Steve Scheurich, Broker Associate - Mancos
When Steve first visited the Four Corners Region with his family while vacationing from his home state of Missouri, he knew, even then, he would someday return to the magical place he now calls home.
Steve decided to pursue a career in real estate after 20 years in the wholesale industrial supply business and the last two years as the assistant director of one of the largest non-profit wildlife rehabilitation centers in the US. "That's where I met my life partner" as Steve glowingly speaks of his better half, Dr. Debra Nicholson, who now practices at the Durango Animal Hospital. "We still spend a good portion of our free time helping injured and misplaced wild animals."
When Steve is not mending a broken wing, his other interests include local history, snow skiing, backpacking and anything else that might take him out into the wild of southwest Colorado.
Steve has three sons; the oldest is Zack, in his second year at the School of Veterinary Medicine of Louisiana State University. His middle son is Adam, a political science major at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and currently studying overseas on the island of Malta; and his youngest son, Nick, who is six years old and currently taking his dad to task on the ski slopes.
"What a wonderful opportunity Bobbie has given me," Steve remarks, "to be able to help others discover what I now know to be a little slice of heaven. How cool is that!"
"I've learned that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain,
but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it."
